Fort Wayne weekly gas update

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Average retail gasoline prices in Fort Wayne have risen 15.3 cents per gallon in the past week, averaging $2.25 per gallon Sunday. This compares with the national average that has increased 1.7 cents per gallon in the last week to $2.22 per gallon.

As the national average for retail gas prices appeared to be headed for a week-over-week decrease, experts with GasBuddy say prices popped back up thanks to a late-week surge in the Midwest. With the Memorial Day holiday just two weeks away marking the kickoff to the summer driving season, experts say gas demand that has already been strong this year will undoubtedly see a huge seasonal increase.
