Four dead, two injured after semi crashes into SUV

PAULDING COUNTY, Ohio. (WOWO) – Four people died and two were injured in a crash between a semi and an SUV.

It happened on Friday night when a semi truck driven by 72-year-old Gary Woods of Michigan was headed eastbound on U.S. 24. Reports say he crossed the median and struck the SUV, which had five people inside. 

Four people were pronounced dead at the scene. One individual was transported by helicopter to a hospital with injuries, and Woods was taken to the hospital with injuries as well. 

The crash is under investigation.
