FWCS Sends Referendum to Ballot

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Fort Wayne voters will have to decide on a $130-million school referendum in May.

The entire Fort Wayne Community Schools Board voted to put phase two of their “Repair FWCS” plan on the ballot last night. They're asking for money to cover a number of repair projects at a number of schools, including some major renovations and moves to improve student safety.

Our partners in news at 21Alive report that while the ballot language quotes a property tax increase, it's actually just an extension of a previously-approved referendum.
