FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO):  Hundreds of students will have school supplies and backpacks this school year thanks to donors and Fort Wayne Community School employees.

FWCS staffers will pack about 300 backpacks filled with pencils, rulers, markers, and other items for needy students.

Many of the bags were funded by employee donations throughout the year. Sodexo, Office Max, Follet, and Sanford Office Products also made contributions.

The backpacks are distributed discretely by elementary school case managers. If you know of a child in need, you're encouraged to contact the child’s school.
