FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): FWFD will be presented the Employee Support of the Guard and Reserve's Above and Beyond Award this afternoon at 4:00 p.m., at the Merit Commission Meeting.

Captain Brett Brown, a 20 year Veteran of the Guard, and 15 year Veteran of the FWFD, nominated the FWFD for this award.  He will be joined by a local ESGR representative to present the honor.    

The Above and Beyond Award is presented by ESGR State Committees to recognize employers at the local level who have gone above and beyond the legal requirements of the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act. The award is given in limited numbers by state committees to employers.
