FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): General Motors and Governor Mike Pence will make a huge economic development announcement around 1:15 this afternoon at the GM Assembly Plant in Roanoke.
Spokesperson Stephanie Jentgen says the goal has always been to upgrade the 30-year-old plant to keep it competitive for the future. She says it has a $350 million economic impact for northeastern Indiana.
The facility employs four-thousand workers and assembles the Chevy full-sized Silverado and the GMC full-sized Sierra. Jentgen says it‘s essential that the facility maintain the best in technology and tooling.
