FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Saturday’s gusty winds caused some problems for Indiana-Michigan Power customers.

According to an I&M spokesman as many as 16,700 customers throughout their service area in northeast Indiana lost power Saturday due to wind gusts of over 60 miles per hour, snapping power lines and causing chaos.

Locally, Allen and DeKalb Counties were the heaviest-hit, but Delaware County and the Muncie area got the worst of it with more than twice as many outages.

Crews will be working throughout the night and most of Sunday to get services restored. If you’re still having problems call 800-311-4634.
