Horse Chase Prompts I-74 Shutdown in Indianapolis

INDIANAPOLIS (AP): Chasing down a runaway horse led police to temporarily shut down a section of Interstate 74 in Indianapolis.

State police say a motorist spotted the horse about 3:30 a.m. Wednesday in I-74's median on the city's southeast side, a couple miles from I-465. The Indianapolis Star reports police closed all lanes of the highway so that the horse could be caught and led away.

Police say the horse has been returned to its owner. It apparently had escaped through a fence recently damaged by vehicle that drove off the highway.
