CLAYPOOL, Ind. (WOWO): One person is dead and another person is in critical condition after a house explosion Thursday afternoon in southwestern Kosciusko County.

The Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office said they were called to a home on County Road 450 West in Claypool at about 3:45 p.m. to find a house completely destroyed. Officers found Kay A. Justis, 68, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officers found someone still alive under about two feet of debris. He was hospitalized in critical condition.

The Indiana State Fire Marshal’s Office has been summoned to assist with the investigation to determine the cause and nature of the explosion.
