Huntington Gets Grant Money to Clean Up Brownfields

HUNTINGTON, Ind. (WOWO): The city of Huntington has  been awarded $350,000 in grants to clean up brownfields in the city.

In a news release, the city says the money will mostly be used on a 12 acre site on Sabine Street, where an asbestos brake pad and clutch manufacturing company existed until 2000.

The city acquired the site in 2014 and has started demolishing the property.
