I-69 Reopened after Fatal Crash


One person was killed in a two-crash Thursday morning crash on I-69 near Warren.

WARREN, Ind. (WOWO): A fatal two-car collision tied up traffic on I-69 in Huntington County for more than two hours Thursday.


Authorities tell WOWO News, around 9:45 a.m., a car crossed from the southbound lane, through median into the path of a northbound car and was struck broadside. The crash happened just short of the 279 mile marker, under the S.R. 124 overpass.

Police have not release the name of the victim, or the extent of injuries to the other driver. No word, if there were passengers in either vehicle. 

The northbound lanes were closed, while northbound lanes remained open, slowed as to little as 5 miles per hour.

Heavy traffic was pushed off at S.R. 5, the Warren interchange, exit 278. Traffic also strained U.S. 224 to the north.
