Indiana Mom gets Home Detention, Probation in Neglect Case

NEW CASTLE, Ind. (AP) _ A 24-year-old Henry County woman has been sentenced to six months of electronic home detention and six months of probation in a child neglect case.

Sheena Zanghi pleaded guilty earlier this month to four counts of neglect of a dependent as part of a plea agreement. Her husband, 38-year-old Vincent Zanghi, pleaded guilty to four neglect charges and was sentenced to one year in jail.

The (Muncie) Star Press (http://tspne.ws/1PQxUlh) reports that the couple was arrested last October after their four young children, who were all under the age of 4, were found living in a mobile home east of Summit Lake without running water, electricity or a working toilet.

Investigators said the children appeared to be malnourished and one of the 14-month-old twin girls suffered a skull fracture.
