INDIANAPOLIS, IND. (WOWO) Indiana Governor Mike Braun has signed an executive order temporarily waiving hours-of-service regulations for drivers transporting propane gas across the state.

The order is aimed at easing supply strain caused by extreme winter weather and increased demand for heating fuel. By suspending federal and state driving time limits, the waiver allows propane deliveries to reach homes and businesses more quickly.

State officials say the action is intended to ensure Hoosiers have access to critical heating fuel during the cold weather period. The waiver is in effect through December 20, 2025.

The executive order applies only to drivers transporting propane and does not suspend safety regulations unrelated to hours-of-service requirements.

Since propane is a byproduct of crude oil, like motor oil tires and many other products, the price doesn’t come down like gas does?
