Indianapolis School Bus Strikes, Kills Pedestrian

INDIANAPOLIS (AP): A man walking through an intersection was struck and killed by a school bus as the bus was making a turn on Indianapolis' far south side.

Police spokesman Sgt. Kendale Adams says the Perry Township school bus was turning left when it struck and killed the man about 8:20 a.m. Tuesday.

Adams says the driver didn't see the man until it was too late. He says police believe the fatality was “just an unfortunate accident.''

Perry Township Schools spokeswoman Paula Clegg says one elementary school student was on the bus at the time of the accident, but the child not hurt.
