Indiana’s Cybercrime Problem – State Ranks Among the Worst

INDIANAPOLIS, IND. (WOWO)— Indiana is one of the worst states in the nation for cybercrime, according to a new report from Click Insights. The group analyzed 2024 data from the FBI’s Internet Crime Complaint Center and found Indiana had 342 cybercrime complaints per 100,000 residents, the second-highest rate in the country, behind only Alaska.

According to the report, Hoosiers lost more than $125 million to cybercrime last year. The average loss per victim came out to roughly $5,287.

The study also noted that Mississippi had the lowest cybercrime rate in the nation.
