IU’s Mosquera-Perea Arrested on DWI Charge

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (AP): Indiana University forward Hanner Mosquera-Perea has been jailed after being arrested on preliminary drunk driving charges.

University police Lt. Craig Munroe says the 21-year-old sophomore was stopped by a campus police officer about 3 a.m. Friday after he started to go the wrong way down a one-way street near the Bloomington campus.

Munroe says the officer stopped the driver when hit a curb twice after correcting his car's direction. Munroe says Mosquera-Perea had a blood-alcohol content twice Indiana's legal limit of 0.08 percent.

Mosquera-Perea has played in all 24 of IU's games this season, averaging 2.9 points and 2.3 rebounds.

The Associated Press left a phone message seeking comment from IU's sports spokesman.

A Monroe County jail officer says Mosquera-Perea isn't likely to go to court before Tuesday.
