Judge Rejects Miss. Man’s Plea to 1992 Ind. Death

PERU, Ind. (AP): A judge has rejected a deal under which a Mississippi man was going to plead guilty to killing a northern Indiana woman more than 20 years ago. Fifty-four-year-old Timothy Jimerson of D'Iberville, Miss., faced a 30-year sentence if the judge had accepted the plea agreement Thursday. That called for Jimerson to plead guilty to a voluntary manslaughter charge for the 1992 strangulation death of 27-year-old Toni Spicer in her Miami County home.
