Last Council Meeting Tuesday for Four Fort Wayne Councilmen

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Four Fort Wayne City Council members will take their city council seats for the last time Tuesday night.

Voters in November elected four new councilmen into the District 1 and District 4 seats along with two at-large seats.

Longtime 1st District Republican Tom Smith was defeated in the May primary by newcomer Paul Ensley.

Mitch Harper lost his District 4 seat when he challenged Democrat Tom Henry for Mayor.

At-Large Republican Marty Bender and At-Large Democrat John Shoaff did not run for re-election.

The four exiting councilmen have a combined 48 years on the council.
