Lilly Endowment Inc. Giving Money to Indiana Colleges

INDIANA, (WOWO): Lilly Endowment Incorporated is giving money to Indiana colleges to help improve employment opportunities for college grads.

Thursday morning it was announced that the state's 39 accredited colleges will be awarded 62.7 million dollars. A number of local colleges including St. Francis, Trine, and Huntington will each be given $1 million dollars from the grant money, while the IU Foundation and Purdue Research Foundation will each see $5 million.

Officials say, while progress has been made, Indiana college graduates continue to have difficulty finding jobs within the state and they believe the grants will be another step in the right direction.
