Lost 78-year-old woman found safe roaming Pokagon State Park

STEUBEN COUNTY, Ind. (WOWO) – A woman has been found safe after being reported lost in Pokagon State Park.

A 78-year-old woman became separated from her family while hiking on a trail at dusk Monday.

Indiana Conservation Officers were joined by other search and rescue teams, who searched throughout the night and into the morning hours. Search crews utilized infra-red drones, thermal imaging equipment and canines.

The woman was found around 9 a.m. Tuesday, walking in a thick marshy area. She was transported by EMS to a local hospital.
