SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WOWO) A Michiana man who pleaded guilty to federal charges for threatening President Donald Trump on social media has been sentenced to time served and will not return to prison.

Twenty‑four‑year‑old Douglas Thrams of Milford was sentenced Thursday to time served followed by two years of supervised release. Court records show Thrams had already spent 10 months and 14 days in federal custody according to WNDU.

Thrams was arrested in January 2025 after individuals in another state reported threatening social media posts to the FBI. He later pleaded guilty to federal charges in August.

According to court documents, Thrams posted multiple videos to his TikTok account in which he advocated violence against government institutions and political leaders. Investigators say some of the videos included calls for bombing government buildings and assassinating politicians.

In one video cited by federal authorities, Thrams said President Trump needed to be killed, referencing the 2024 assassination attempt in Pennsylvania. The FBI said the statements were considered direct threats and prompted a federal investigation.

Prosecutors did not seek additional prison time beyond time served. As part of his sentence, Thrams will remain under federal supervision for two years.

The case was investigated by the FBI and prosecuted in federal court.

It was likely a TikTok challenge. ..those crazy kids.

Like Trump needing to stay off social media platforms… i might recommend the same for this child.
.. possibly too many Tide Pods?

I don’t know that we’ve heard the last from Dougy-boy, as his bulb appears to be a bit dim. Time will tell. Federal Supervision may thwart his prison tendencies, but Donald has a knack for ruffling a few feathers.

Become a better person Doug. Be about it!
