Man Collapses, Dies in Parke County Creek

PARKE COUNTY, Ind. (WOWO): Indiana Conservation Officers are investigating the death of a Rockville man whose body was found in approximately 8 feet of water Monday evening. Divers found the body of 27-year-old John Androusky in Sugar Creek, upstream of the Jackson covered bridge, west of Bloomingdale, Indiana.

Officers say Androusky was hiking with a friend on Sugar Creek Conservation Area when he reportedly swam across Sugar Creek and back. Witnesses say he was standing near the water's edge and collapsed into the creek. Emergency crews were called to the scene around 5:30 P.M., and divers recovered Androusky's body an hour later. The man could not be resuscitated.

An autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday.
