SOUTH WHITLEY, Ind. (WOWO) _ A man is dead after a shooting in South Whitley. Whitley County officials say it happened Friday night at 62-year-old David Hagan's home at 229 W. Buckey Street, where police found 29-year-old Adam Porter dead in the home's back yard.

The County Prosecutor's Office says Hagan claims the shooting was in self-defense. Hagan has been released from police custody pending the results of the investigation, and so far no charges have been filed.
