Man Dies After Scooter Hits Semi in South Bend

SOUTH BEND, Ind. (AP): Police say the driver of a motorized scooter died after crashing into a semitrailer at a South Bend intersection.
       Police say 60-year-old Jerry Sailor was rushed to a hospital after Monday's crash near downtown South Bend but died from severe head injuries.
       Witnesses told officers the scooter went into the intersection and hit the side of the semi. Sailor was thrown from his scooter and pulled under the semi.
       Police say he wasn't wearing a helmet.
