Man Dies from Injuries Sustained in Fort Wayne Crash

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): A Huntington man has died as a result of the injuries he sustained in a single-car cash at Runnion Avenue and Howell Street.


The crash happened on Sunday, July 20th around 8:45 p.m., in Fort Wayne.


The victim has been identified as 27-year-old Kevin Walda. According to police, Walda was the driver of the vehicle. He was traveling at a high rate of speed when he lost control of the car. The vehicle rolled, clipped a utility pole, and finally came to a stop at Runnion and Howell.


According to the Allen County Coroner, the cause of death was ruled blunt fore trauma and the manner of death has been determined to be an accident.


Two other passengers were also injured in the crash and police say alcohol was a contributing factor.


Walda is the 14th traffic fatality for Fort Wayne and Allen County in 2014.
