Man escapes uninjured after vehicle struck by train in DeKalb County

DEKALB COUNTY, Ind. (WOWO) – One man escaped uninjured after his vehicle was struck by a train on Monday.

An investigation revealed a 2000 Ford Contour had turned off US 6 from the westbound lane onto County Road 53 southbound, when the driver became stuck in the path of an eastbound train.

He was able to escape the vehicle before the train struck, but the Ford Contour was totaled.

The driver of the train was also uninjured.
