INDIANAPOLIS (AP): A man has pleaded guilty and will receive four consecutive life sentences for his role in a drug-related quadruple killing in Indianapolis two years ago.

Marion County Prosecutor Terry Curry says a county judge accepted Kenneth Rackemann’s plea Friday during a scheduled pre-trial conference.

Rackemann’s plea calls for him to receive four consecutive life sentences without parole for the murders and an additional 20 years for a robbery charge.

The 26-year-old had faced a September death penalty trial in the February 2014 killings.

His plea comes after he rejected an earlier plea agreement in December, days after reaching that previous plea deal. The killings happened during a botched robbery at a drug house.

Two other people face trial in connection with those killings, while a third pleaded guilty and awaits sentencing.
