Man In Custody After Hours Long Standoff In Fort Wayne

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO) – The Fort Wayne Police Department has taken one person into custody after a nearly six-hour standoff on Thursday.

Police say they were first called to a home in the 900 block of Columbia Avenue, near Loree Street, around 9 a.m.

Officers at the scene then engaged in a standoff and closed off Columbia Avenue at St. Joseph Blvd., as they investigated.

According to our partners in news at 21ALIVE, after SWAT crews entered the home, police took one man into custody around 3 p.m.
