FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Mayor Tom Henry is considering doing something he hasn't done in his previous two terms in office: he's now open to expanding Fort Wayne's borders through annexation. 

That's according to what he told our partners in news at 21Alive this week. He wants to take a look at possible areas for annexation if it would mean more revenue streams for the city. 

Areas that could be under consideration could be the area where Parkview Regional Medical Center sits near I-69 and Dupont Road, along with rural land northwest towards Churubusco and land south of the old Southtown Mall. 

In his eight years in office, Henry has not pursued annexation.
