FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): There’s a good deal for Fort Wayne pet owners who want to take an extra precaution.

The city’s Animal Care and Control department is offering a pet microchip service for $15, as long as you bring in an ID and proof your pet has been vaccinated for rabies. Our partners in news at 21Alive say previously the department only microchipped stray animals that ended up at their facility.

Dogs will have to be brought in on a leash, and cats will need to be in a carrier, but no appointment is necessary.
