ANGOLA, Ind. (WOWO): A mother who allegedly let her four-year old daughter slip into a busy Steuben County street is scheduled to appear in court today.

In June, police found the child playing on North Wayne Street in Angola. That's one of heaviest traveled stretches of traffic in that community.

Police say 27-year old Lacey Gaul was arrested after she passed out huffing vapors. Court documents say the child was nearly hit by traffic.

The conference today is in advance of a jury trial that's schedule trial in November. Gaul is facing a Class D count of child neglect.
