New program at Adams County Jail helps womens’ mental health

DECATUR, Ind. (WOWO) – The Adams County Jail has put a new program in place that allows incarcerated women support and recovery meeetings after they’re released.

The Journal-Gazette reports Adams Memorial Hospital, Bowen Center, and others are helping to provide mental health support in the new program, called A Better Life-Brianna’s Hope.

The program has nearly 50 chapters across mainly Indiana and Ohio, and its website says it’s helped over 900 participants improve their mental health during and after incarceration.
