NIPSCO is Getting an Upgrade

INDIANA, (WOWO): It appears that NIPSCO is planning a big project to modernize its electrical network.

The project will cost 1-billion dollars over the next several years. Officials say they’ll work to replace hundreds of miles of electrical line both above and below ground–as well as some 75 substations.

The utility services 457-thousand customers across Northern Indiana. They have filed a request for a 1 percent rate increase from 2015 to 2020 for the work.

That rate decision likely won’t come till next year–meaning work would start in min 2014.
