NW Indiana Call Center Plans Adding 300 Workers

HOBART, Ind. (AP) _ A northwestern Indiana call center says it is adding at least 300 workers in the next couple months after signing contracts with two companies in the health care industry.

The hiring at Teleperformance Americall in Hobart comes after it added 600 jobs last summer. Center director Scott Amo tells The Times of Munster that round of hiring came because of business growth with existing clients that include Sears and Comcast.

The new employees will have a starting salary of $10 per hour and will handle customer calls, such as people needing information about health care.
