ALLEN COUNTY, IND. (WOWO) A woman in her twenties was killed early Thursday after a single-vehicle crash in Allen County, according to the Sheriff’s Department.

Deputies were called around 6:01 a.m. to the area of Irving Road and Thimlar Road on a report of a vehicle crash with injuries. When officers arrived, they found the car on the north side of the roadway.

Investigators say the eastbound vehicle left the road for unknown reasons, struck a driveway embankment, went airborne and then hit a tree. East Central Fire and EMS personnel pronounced the driver dead at the scene. She was the only person in the car.

The Allen County Coroner’s Office will release her identity once family is notified. The crash remains under investigation.
