Ordinance Being Proposed Brings Back Collective Bargaining Debate

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): A Fort Wayne councilman proposed an ordinance that would bring back debates for collective bargaining in the city.

Democrat councilman John Shoaff wants to establish a grievance procedure for city workers who have a dispute with a supervisor, according to our news partners at 21 Alive. The proposal would include binding arbitration when other talks fail. Meanwhile, Republican Dr. John Crawford had the votes to counter union powers with the 2014 city council. He argues there are legal options to binding arbitration, and it contradicts Indiana and Fort Wayne statute.
