Phyllis J. Pond Memorial Highway to be Unveiled April 29

NEW HAVEN, Ind. (WOWO): The INDOT Fort Wayne District has announced that on April 29, 2014, U.S. 24, from U.S. 30 east of New Haven to the Indiana/Ohio State Line will be designated the “Phyllis J. Pond Memorial Highway.” The unveiling will happen at the Orchid Reception Hall on Lincoln Highway East in New Haven. There, INDOT will unveil one of the two signs. Pond passed away in September of 2013. She was the longest-serving female representative in state history and was an advocate for the U.S. 24 Fort to Port Highway project. The event is open to the public and starts at 1:00 P.M.
