Pizza Hut Manager Fired Over Thanksgiving Dispute

ELKHART, Ind. (AP): Pizza Hut is offering to rehire the manager of a northern Indiana restaurant who was fired over his refusal to open the restaurant on Thanksgiving Day.

Tony Rohr says he's worked at the Elkhart restaurant for more than 10 years but was told to write a letter of resignation after he refusal the holiday demand.

Rohr says he instead wrote a letter explaining that he believed the company should care more about its employees. Rohr says Thanksgiving and Christmas days have been the only guaranteed days off for the restaurant's workers.

A statement from Pizza Hut's corporate office says it respects an employee's right to not work on the holiday and that the store owner has agreed to reinstate Rohr.

Rohr says he hasn't decided yet whether to accept the offer.
