Police Arrest NW Indiana Woman, 68, In Death Of Stepmom, 77

RENNSELAER, Ind. (AP) _ Police in northwestern Indiana have arrested a 68-year-old woman in the death of her 77-year-old stepmother.

Rensselaer Police Chief Jeff Phillips says Judy Moore has been booked in the Jasper County Jail on a preliminary charge of murder in the death of Trula Alliss. He said Moore is expected to be formally charged Wednesday and that more information would on the case would be released then.

Alliss was found dead in her home on Feb. 5. An autopsy found she died from blunt force injuries.

Phillips told the Lafayette Journal & Courier for a story Tuesday (http://on.jconline.com/18izKZG ) that Moore and Alliss lived in the same apartment complex in Rennselaer, 40 miles north of Lafayette.

It wasn't clear whether Moore has an attorney who could discuss the case.
