HARTFORD CITY, Ind. (WOWO): Current Hartford City Common Council and Board of Public Works member, John Adams, has been charged with child molesting. 

According to our partners in news at 21 Alive, the retired educator from Blackford County Schools was caught on audio tape talking with his victim about the abuse.

The victim didn’t come forward earlier because of Adams’ position with the community.

In an interview with investigators, Adams admitted to some of the allegations about sexual encounters.

There are also some allegations that abuse might of happened with other children and that Adams may have provided alcohol to minors. In the meantime, this is an ongoing investigation.
