Retail Theft Crackdown Legislation

OHIO, (WOWO) — Ohio Senator Jon Husted is backing a bipartisan crackdown on retail crime.

He’s joining lawmakers from both parties to support the Combating Organized Retail Crime Act – a bill that would create a national task force, beef up law enforcement tools, and help recover stolen goods.

Husted says retail theft is surging and funding more serious crimes like trafficking.

The bill has wide support – from UPS and Amazon to national law enforcement groups.
