Elderly man found dead during house fire near Lake Barbee

PIERCETON, Ind. (WOWO): A Pierceton man is dead following a fire at a home near Barbee Lake.

Firefighters from North Webster and Tippecanoe were called to a house on E. South Barbee Drive just a little after 9 a.m. Tuesday morning.

While firefighters battled the blaze, they discovered an elderly man in the house. 73-year-old Paul Rubenacker was dead when a fireman found him.

There’s no evidence of foul play so far, according to Kosciusko County Coroner Anthony Ciriello. There’s also no formal determination of the fire’s cause.
