COLUMBIA CITY, Ind. (WOWO) As an investigation for wrongdoing continues, sources in Whitley County government confirm that Whitley County Auditor Jennifer McGuire has resigned.

Last month, McGuire was escorted from her office by representatives of the County Prosecutor's Office at the request of County Commissioners.

There has been no confirmation of what the alleged wrongdoing is believed to be.

On July 24, Whitley County Commissioners issued the following release about some alleged improprieties concerning Jennifer McGuire, the Whitley County Auditor.

The Whitley County Prosecutor's Office was advised of alleged improprieties in the Whitley County Auditor’s Office on Thursday, July 24th. The Whitley County Commissioners have asked that an investigation be conducted and that investigation is now underway. When the investigation concludes, the results will be reported to the Whitley County Prosecutor's Office and appropriate action will then be taken.
