SOUTH BEND, Ind. (AP) _ Some law enforcement officials are still frustrated by the unsolved slayings of three employees at a pharmacy in South Bend.
Tuesday marks the 25th anniversary of the fatal shootings that took place in an apparent robbery at Osco Drug on Aug. 25, 1990. Those killed were 29-year-old assistant manager Scott Dick, 25-year-old pharmacist Tracy Holvoet and 43-year-old clerk Connie Zalewski.
Mike Swanson, a former homicide detective who led the investigation into the killings, says the case still haunts him and he feels badly for the victim's families.
Although former store manager Christopher Allen has been accused as the killer, he was able to walk away in 2006 after three mistrials.
The South Bend Tribune was unable to locate Allen for comment. He was last known to live near Atlanta.
