‘Start Smart Drive’ Collects School Supplies

The Southwest Allen County Schools Education Foundation hosted its first-ever “Start Smart Drive” on Saturday.

The drive was put together to collect school supplies and hygiene items for local students.

Community members donated items at Homestead High School from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Organizers say the goal is to help fill a school bus with supplies and make sure every SACS student, from pre-K through 12th grade, has the resources needed for the upcoming school year.

Foundation leaders say they hope to make the drive an annual tradition to continue supporting families across the district. Donations will continue to be accepted through the foundation.
