FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO) – A teen arrested in connection with a 4th of July fireworks shooting last year has pleaded guilty to one of the charges.
18-year-old Ni’Shawn Jackson has been charged with attempted murder and two counts of criminal recklessness. Reports say he entered into a plea agreement to have the attempted murder charge and one count of criminal recklessness dropped.
Reports say the incident happened very early on July 5 after 4th of July firework celebrations downtown. Investigators say Jackson and another teen allegedly fired weapons at a group of people.
One person was killed and three others were injured.
Jackson will be sentenced on February 6. He faces up to six years in prison if the judge accepts the plea agreeement, but he may face more than 40 years in prison if it is rejected.

6 years for the life of another is ridiculous.
