MOUNT VERNON, Ind. (WOWO) — The Ports of Indiana is celebrating a major milestone at Mount Vernon with the opening of a new federally approved bonded storage facility.
Developed in just six weeks to meet urgent demand, the site today handled its first shipment of 1,650 tons of aluminum from Asia.
This new designation allows businesses to defer high federal duties for up to five years, positioning the Ohio River port as a key Midwest hub for the automotive and construction industries.
