Thousands Raised to Support Slain Walker’s Family

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) – Hoosiers and donors across the country have given more than $130,000 to support the pregnant widow of a 24-year-old Indianapolis man who was fatally shot during his morning walk.

Nathan Trapuzzano died Tuesday after he was shot on a pre-dawn walk on the west side of Indianapolis.

Since then, more than 2,000 have donated to his family using the GoFundMe website. The money will pay for Trapuzzano's funeral and support his unborn daughter.

A family member who made the site says their entire baby registry was purchased in hours.

Trapuzzano worked as a software engineer at Ivy Tech Community College, which also donated a two-year scholarship to his daughter.

His family says the support has restored their faith in face of the tragedy.
