FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Questions remain following the discovery of a dead body at a Fort Wayne home.
The coroners office has completed a preliminary autopsy and confirms the cause and manner of death are pending.
Authorities have yet to release man's name.
A community corrections officer was conducting an inspection at the residence on Woodland, when he detected a “foul odor” coming from inside. While searching, authorities found a body on in a second floor bedroom.
According to police reports, the officer was investigating a probation violation by 58-year-old Barbara Ann Helton. She was taken into custody for that violation.
