UPDATE 9:50AM

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Eastbound US 24 was closed for hours Friday morning from West Hamilton to West County Line Road due to a truck leaking fuel in the area.

Emergency crews and multiple fire agencies are on the scene.  Jeff Bowman with our partners in news at 21Alive reports the driver of the tanker was approaching a construction zone while crews were starting to put out lane closure notices.  A glare from the sun made it hard to see, and the driver of the tanker hit the flashing sign, damaging the side of the container.

Around 300 gallons of fuel leaded out.  Luckily no one was hurt, and there's no timetable for the full clean-up, however dispatch tells WOWO News that one eastbound lane has since opened, while westbound lanes remain open.

Avoid that stretch of road heading into Fort Wayne while there is restrictions in the area.
